The Letter to the Colossians
Paul's Letter to the Colossians is his most Christological letter, defining the nature of Christ, His mission, and the Christian's relationship to Christ. The predominant theme is the preeminence and sufficiency of Christ in all and through all in the life of the Christian. Every Christian is made complete in Jesus as God intended for that person from the moment of his/her conception. The redeemed Christian lacks nothing to prepare him/her for the Kingdom of Heaven because "in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily" (Col 2:9). It has been said that Paul's Letter to the Ephesians is his epistle portraying the "Church of Christ." That being the case, then St. Paul's Letter to the Colossians must surely be the letter that portrays the "Christ of the Church"!
